Use assignments
An assignment enables you to describe an object in more detail by means of an assigned model. In the assigned model you can, for example, model the necessary work steps and executing departments for an object. If a model is assigned to an object, this is indicated by an assignment icon
next to the object. Assigned models can be opened by double-clicking the assignment icon.
In an open model, select the object to which you want to assign a new model.
Click the Start tab bar if not already selected.
Click
Assignment >
Create assignment. The dialog opens.Select the required model type. The name of the selected object is suggested as a model name.
Keep the suggested model name or enter a new one.
Click OK.
The new model is assigned to the selected object and opens on a new tab. You can model the required content.
In an open model, select the object to which you want to assign an existing model.
Click the Start tab bar if not already selected.

Create assignment. The dialog opens.Select the required model type.
Enter the name of an existing model. As you type the model name, all models whose names begin with the characters you type are listed.
Select the relevant model from the list.
The existing model is assigned and the
assignment icon is displayed on the left of the selected object.
In an open model, select the object for which you want to open an assigned model.
Double-click the
assignment icon.
The assigned model opens. If multiple models are assigned to the object, the Select model dialog is shown and you can select the model that you want to open.
In an open model, select the object for which you want to delete the assignment.
Click the Start tab bar if not already selected.
Click
Assignment >
Delete assignment. The Delete model assignment dialog opens.Enable the models for which you want to delete the assignment relationships.
Click OK.
The selected assignment relationships are deleted without prompting for confirmation.
